Meet Our Teacher
This is Mrs Thomas. She is one of the Year 2 teachers. Mrs Robertson helps her to teach her class.
Our topic is Giants and Beanstalks. We have been very busy and there are some photos below to show you a selection of what we have been doing.
We went on a visit to The Angel of the North as part of our art work. It is a giant sculpture by Antony Gormley. It was a very wet day but we didn’t let that spoil our fun!
When we got back to school we used clay to make our own Angel of the North sculptures. We love art!
In computing we learnt how to use an app on the iPads called Popplet. We worked together and made a presentation using all of the information we have learnt about the Angel of the North.
In science we have been learning about the functions of each part of a plant. We linked our next art lesson to this and we carefully observed lots of different plants and flowers. We sketched them using pencil and we experimented with chalk and pastels too.
In science we have been learning about how seeds germinate and grow into plants. We have learnt about plant lifecycles. We loved doing an investigations about different types of seeds and watching them germinate and begin to grow.
