Each year, the children elect new members of the School Council. Children in Year 1 and Year 2 decide if they want to be part of the School Council and put their name forward for their class mates to vote. Once children have cast their votes, they are counted and those with the highest number are elected onto the School Council.
School Councillors receive a special badge to wear on their uniform. They attend meetings during each term where they help to make important decisions about our school. Recently, the School Council has helped choose new teachers for our school by being part of the interview process, they have talked to their classes about equipment they would like for playtimes, they have made decisions about choices on the dinner menu for celebration dinners, they have helped with fund raising activities and have designed posters for school events, to name but a few of their responsibilities.
Our School Councillors take their role very seriously and love being involved in making our school a great place to be!
